Things I Love Thursday

Hello, sorry its been a whole week! Christmas time gets sooo busy! Friday and Saturday I had the shop open but we closed early Saturday for a Christmas with Philp's family. Sunday went to the shop then went home. Monday I spent the day with Philip's mom and sisters then when he got off we went to my aunt's for Christmas and then spent the night at my mom's. Woke up had Christmas lunch with her then went home to prepare dinner for 11 people. All the while we were expecting a huge snow and got nothing! I made a delicious 7 lb. roast with veggies, gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, gluten free sweet potatoes, we had mashed potatoes, cookies, pumkin pie, pecan pie, rolls, fruit salad and cider! I was worn out but had a lot of fun. Tomorrow I will talk about all the wonderful things we got and gave. Now for things I love!!!

Love my new Julep It Girl color "Daphne"! It came early in the mail so it was like a Christmas present!

Things I Love Thursday

Hello! Sorry I have missed the past couple of days. We have been so busy trying to get the house ready for Christmas and making all of our handmade Christmas presents. So yesterday Philip and I found out some news that is going to put us in a little financial bind for a few months which is pretty stressful and has been worrying me a lot, but after talking to my sister I started feeling better. I know that God will take care of it and he proved it to me today with 3 little signs/blessings (also 3 is my fav. number!). My mom and I went to this yummy restaurant called Le madeline's today and I ordered some soup. They brought it to the table today with an extra bowl of it and I said it wasn't mine and they gave it to me anyway. Then we ordered dessert to go (I ordered a chocolate macaroon) when we got home I opened it and there were 2! The last blessing/sign was when I was going to pick up Philip and I's sewing machine from the repair shop and I fouind a $20.00 bill in the parking lot!

Anyway today is "Things I love Thursday"! Here we go:

Go to www.julep.com and take the style profile kit and get your 1st box for .1 with the coupon code "color2012". I am getting mine tonight!

Saturday at the Hollow

Sorry I missed yesterday! It was such a busy but good day. Philip and I got to the shop late! Ah! We were busy with customers all day and made lots of good sales. There was a christmas event at the Hollow which was fun and brought in some extra business. I had custom orders and new items coming in and it was just a crazy day! Philip's aunt came by for a bit and offered to take us out to dinner so we went to Freddie's steak house in Sapulpa, YUM! I ordered a 14 oz. steak, which was so good. But get this, you can't even finish your meal because they give you so much food! First they bring crackers to the table then a dinner salad. Next hummus with a relish tray, tabouli and ribs and bologna! Then they brought me my steak and a baked potato with Texas toast! I think I am still full.

Here is an outfit that I love and wore yesterday:

I Heart Kitchens

Hello! Slow day at the shop for me but thats ok I have had lots of time to work on stuff! So, Philip and I bought a forclosed house in March of 2012 and it needed lots of work. Thankfully my dad is the handiest guy ever and he became our contractor. He did all the big repairs while we have worked on small things that add charm. Anyway, my kitchen is pretty much my home! It always has to be tidy and beautiful. It is my absolute favorite room. This kitchen though was kind of ugly and quite outdated when we bought it so piece by piece we have transformed it. Its no where near done but I am at a "HAPPY POINT" with it.

Here are the before pictures:

And now....

The shelf is my new baby... It was just sitting in our shed when we bought the house so we just decided it would look good in here and I love it! I couldn't decide what to put on it so Philip designed it, I love it!
The black table is my baking station! I have my vintage Kitchenaid mixer, cookbooks, flour, sugar, etc. here.

I don't love the black but it works good and thats what matters right now. The vintage cutting board is also one of my new babies. I got her at Vintage Market Days in Bixby, Oklahoma last month.

The vintage drawer pulls are a new addition. We got them on Dewey Street in Sapulpa at Dewey Street Market and I love them!

Hope you enjoy my kitchen so far!

Things I love Thursday

Hello! So Today and every Thursday I will be doing "Things I love Thursday", which I have borrowed from Honeybeeinthecity.blogspot.com (I LOVE HER BLOG). Today will be quite simple though because I am tired and ready to chillax. Today has be such a busy day. I have been running errands and stuffing my face all day. Got some Christmas gift DIY stuff, which I will show later. Philip and I went on a date tonight on Dewey Street. He took me on a horse drawn carriage ride and then we went to the burger joint and ate our hearts out! He is so sweet! So this "Things I love Thursday" will just consist of I love carriage rides and my Hubby! That's good enough for me!

Be back tomorrow! Have a fabulous evening!

Day on Dewey Street

So today Philip and I got up, slowly got ready ( I decided to dress up a little today) and decided to head to Dewey Street in Sapulpa. It is this adorable street right in the heart of downtown. There are so many great shops there including our fav. Dewey Street Market! We never leave there without buying something and spending more than we should. So we walked around there for about an hour or so and found an awesome old tool caddy which I have wanted one for like a year (still not sure what I will do with it, maybe use it in the kitchen?). We also found some vintage drawer pulls for our kitchen and an adorable candle stick holder! Yay!

So enough with the shopping! Time for fashion! Today I spent like an hour trying to decide what to wear. Since Christmas is coming up I need to test my outfits ha. So I got dressed up and we went out for our day on the town!

This is one of my semi festive outfits. I have had the sweater and tights for a few months but have never worn them in this outfit. The shoes I originally bought to wear to my wedding but changed my mind so they have been sitting unloved in my closet since I got them about 8 months ago. I love polk-a-dot tights! Don't you?

Here is where everything is from:
Shoes: Payless
Tights: Target <3
Skirt:Target
Tank:Target
Belt:Vintage thrift find
Sweater:Target
Ring: Jo and June
Earrings: Vintage faux pearls
Purse: Michael Kors
Nails: L'oreal Mustard

Anyway, thats all for now. I am off to clean and pick up the mess I made in my closet this morning. Be back tomorrow!

DIY "Energy in a Jar"

So the past couple of days Philip and I have been trying to get some Christmas gifts done DIY style! We are trying to make most everybody's gift by hand this year and so far we are off to a late start but I think we can do it! Today has been a lazy day but we got a bit done. We went into Sapulpa today (the closest civilized town to us) and headed down to the local Walmart to get some things for our DIY energy in a jar gifts! What a fun idea right? Thank you Pintrest! So here is what you need for 1 jar (we did 5): 1, one quart glass jar with lid, a couple of packages iced coffee, a few fun sized candy bars, an energy bar, 1 package energy trail or granola mix. We already had the jars but got the lids and everything else at Walmart.

Sorry had to switch to larger jars in the 2nd picture because it wouldn't fit in the small ones!

  Here is what everything cost....
Folgers instant coffee packs (7 count): $1.00
Kerr lids and rings (10 count): $3.17
Fun sized M&Ms (6 count):$1.00
Fun sized Almond Joy (6 count):$1.00
Fun sized Babe Ruth (6 count):$1.00
Crunchy Cliff bars (5 count):$2.98
Emerald "Breakfast on the Go" (5 count):$2.68
Hills Bros. iced coffee mix (5 count):$1.48

If you don't have jars you can always find them at your local Walmart or even garage sales and thrift shops.

So total for 5 "Energy in a Jar" jars it cost us about $14.31 total, which per jar comes to about $2.86 a piece! Not bad for a nice homemade gift huh?

We also made cute little DIY labels using white cardstock, a red sharpie, black stamp ink and small letter stamps. Then we added a strand of cotton twine and a sprig of an evergreen tree. So fun!

The end result:

These are perfect for someone who has kids, Lord knows they need the energy! So now I am off to make dinner and be lazy again! Be back tommorrow, hope you enjoy!

Introduction

Hello everyone! I have finally decided to start a blog which I know nothing about but here goes!

Let me start off by telling you a bit about myself and my life... My name is Danielle and I am a 22 year old newlywed. I am married to the most handsome man in the world and we have 4 cats, 1 indoor named Bella and 3 outdoor named Ron, Harry and Neville (Harry Potter fan much?). We are both from the city but decided to move to the country when we got married. Now we live in a quaint little farm house on about 7 acres. We don't have a farm quite yet but plan to get started in the spring of 2013.

I am the proud owner of my online shop www.julietandco.etsy.com where I make headbands, clips, stuffed owls and jewelry. I also just opened up a small boutique and antique shop in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where I carry a variety of items. www.Facebook.com/joandjune

This blog is a lifestyle blog where I will share things about my life, hopes, dreams and all the ups and downs in between. I love fashion and cooking, diy and all things vintage so I would love to share all of that with you. I hope you enjoy!
